Matthew 16:18-19
Increasingly, this scripture is ignored more and more as time passes. Some might counter, well that's more a matter of opinion than fact. Alright, so let's examine the facts and at the least, base an opinion on those facts. Odd, that such a way even has to be walked, considering I do not know of anyplace in scripture where God the Father, Jesus the Son or the Holy Spirit has rendered any doctrinal position, command, example or inference as a matter of opinion, excepting the following type of scenario. Example: we are exhorted to attend assembly. By command, teaching, example or inference we are also told not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some. So, from all directions- beit North, South, East or West, we are to 'assemble for worship' , when and where at all possible, whether outdoors, indoors, in home or in a building of sorts. That, is not a matter of opinion while 'how one may get to assembly' might be. Once at assembly , how we are to worship is not a matter of opinion. Who we are to associate or fellowship with and how the worship is to be conducted is not a matter of opinion. Which brings us right to the point in question. Increasingly, this scripture , 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, is ignored more and more as time passes, by increasingly more of 'us', the very one church we contend to be. That being one church that Jesus built.

God says you can't have it both ways, never mind any which way scripture mandates as the one and only way. With all the groups professing to be Christian 'out there', almost everybody is trying to have it theor own way. You may not like to hear this but to put the point into venecular terms, not to mention rather bluntly, Jesus is really saying on behalf of the Godhead, 'It's our way or the hiway'. Verbal shock therapy on your psche? Hope so! Especially, if nothing else works. And, it seems like nothing else is working. If you were unaware of a fire in the building, would you prefer that somebody yells it out loud and clear or whispers sweet nothings not within your earshot? Remember who said many times over, 'He who has ears to hear, let him hear'. No?

16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people."
17 Therefore, "Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you."
18 'I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
