To says this building was and is a 'fixer upper' is an understatement is a bit of an understatement. Besides what we knew needed some TLC, there were a few surprises. Not the kind wrapped in pretty paper with ribbons and bows and a nice card. The windows needed some immediate attention as the existing ones were very old style and single pane. They were the kind with three holes at the bottom and a semi-rotating wood cover. With winter on the way they just wouldn't do. However, before we even reached that point the old furnace gave up the ghost. At that point it made sense to replace the hot water tank as well.
