A massive leak of documents from Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca, dubbed the Panama Papers, is blowing the lid off of widespread international corruption connected to offshore tax shelters. A dozen world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, are among those linked to the offshore accounts exposed in the leak. "Unfortunately, these findings are not surprising," Mark Hays, senior adviser of Global Witness, a nonprofit organization that acts as a watchdog against international corruption, told International Business Times. "What is surprising is that this is just one law firm involved in this practice, but there are thousands of companies involved in orchestrating these schemes ... [This leak] shows the number of players in the game and how far it goes."
More than 12 world leaders have been linked to offshore accounts handled by Mossack Fonseca, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, former Iraqi Vice President Ayad Allawi, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Alaa Mubarak, the son of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, and Icelandic Prime Minister Sigmundur Davío Gunnlaugsson.
The leaks reveal a network of more than $2 billion in money extracted from Russian banks and stored in offshore accounts with a paper trail leading directly to some of Putin's closest associates. It is unlikely the scheme could have occurred without the Russian president's approval and in many cases Putin appears to have personally benefited. It also remains to be seen what North American names may be contained in the documents.

No matter what the outcome of this particular scandal it will show a number of things people will have to give account for when they stand before God.
First of all any individual who serves money and mammon before God will pay a price not even a bribe could get them out of. And, pay they will.
Clearly shown is that it is easier for a rich man to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Indeed how the rich will fade away in the midst of their pursuits.
It indeed demonstrates that the love of money is the root of all evil and there sure is a lot of that kind of love out there.
Show me one mortal in history who in the end beat death.
Show me one person ever who managed to take even one cent with them. We come into the world with nothing and we shall leave the same way.
