If you ask God to alleviate your loneliness He just may suggest some solutions you haven’t thought of. Likely because you’re focused looking inward versus outward. You won't drive forward successfully looking out the rear view mirror.
I was hungry and you gave me something to eat
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink
I was a stranger and you invited me in
I needed clothes and you clothed me
I was sick and you looked after me
I was in prison and you came to visit me
Matthew 25:35-36,40,45.
Would it surprise you to know that in a life of serving others, those who get off the bench and into the game, know what loneliness is but are seldom lonely?

And the Lord told him: "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do."

YOUR PLACE TOO!
Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king.
He said, "This is what the king who will reign over you will do:”
1 Samuel 8:10-11
If you pray for God to remove a ‘troublesome’ person or even an enemy from your life He may provide you with opportunities to:
Love them,
Feed them when their hungry,
Give drink when they’re thirsty
Pray for them when they mistreat you
Contrary to disappearing from your life as you may have hoped for– they may become a bigger part of it, because they need you and you need them, and not even know it.
Also, God is very patient. He’ll give you opportunities as long as you need them. He is quite capable of providing them until you finally ‘get it’. What it takes as long as it takes.
Romans 12:20-21; Matthew 5:43-48
Welcome...to the only church that Jesus built!
Matthew 16:18-19
Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
James 5:13-16
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Mark 11:24; James 4:1-10

GOD SAID “They have rejected me as their king”

WELCOME HOME
But the people refused to listen to Samuel. "No!" they said. "We want a king over us.
Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles."

When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the Lord will not answer you in that day.

YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT!
So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. They said to him, "You are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have."

DIRECTIONS
The children of Israel would have recoiled at the thought of:
A) Rejecting God
B) Having their own king
C) Being like the other nations
But, with a track record like they had already I suppose it shouldn’t come as too much as a surprise.
As God said, “As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods…”
If you pray to God for strength, He may test your faith beyond anything you’ve ever known.
You see, the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
That’s having steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
Synonyms have a way of making something clear. Think: persistence, tenacity, determination and staying power.
Perseverance doesn’t give up. If you let it do its work, you won’t ‘throw in the towel’ either.
By the way, if you don’t know what a ‘synonym’ is, you really should read up on it.
James 1:2, 3, 12.
HOME AT LAST
YOU WOULD THINK WITH A WARNING LIKE THAT…
When you ask for something don’t be surprised that God gives you a way… and dare ask yourself this.
Why would you expect an answer to fall out of the sky into your lap, that’s already under your nose?
When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as judges for Israel. The name of his firstborn was Joel and the name of his second was Abijah, and they served at Beersheba. But his sons did not walk in his ways. They turned aside after dishonest gain and accepted bribes and perverted justice.
1 Samuel 8:1-3
I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except by Me. John 14:6
NOW LISTEN TO JESUS THIS DAY IN 2018
When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the Lord.
The Lord answered, "Listen to them and give them a king."
1 Samuel 8:21-22
